A. In accordance with the provisions of paragraph (d) of California Elections Code Section 10403.5, any city officer whose terms of office would have expired under former Municipal Code Section 2.20.020 and prior to the adoption of the ordinance codified in this chapter, shall instead continue in the office until the next regularly scheduled city council meeting after receipt of the certification of the results from the county elections official following the statewide election.

B. The city's general municipal election consolidated with the statewide general election shall be held in November of 2014, at which time the seats of the council members that would have been up for election at the prior scheduled date for a general municipal election shall be up for election. The seats of the remaining council members shall be up for election at the next general municipal election, which shall be consolidated with the statewide general election to be held in November of 2016.
