The fire department shall be self-governing in internal affairs and is authorized and empowered to adopt a constitution and by-laws for its own internal government, subject to approval by the city council. (Ord. 97-03 (part), 1997; Ord. 88-20 § 9, 1988; Ord. 68B § 8)
