"Front yard" means a yard extending across the front of the lot between the side lot lines and measured from the front lot line of the lot to the nearest line of the building; provided, however, that if an official plan line has been established for the street upon which the lot faces, the front yard measurement shall be taken from such official plan line to the nearest line of the building.
