A. Every accessory sign shall be so designed and constructed that it will safely withstand a wind load from any direction of twenty pounds per square foot of exposed surface. Working stresses shall not exceed those specified in the building code for the various materials, and all such signs shall have a factor of safety of two against overturning.

B. No accessory sign shall exceed six and one-half feet in overall height above the ground on which it extends, nor exceed six feet in total width, and the area of any one face shall not exceed twenty square feet. Accessory signs shall be supported directly upon the ground or paved surface and shall not be placed within fifteen feet of any other accessory sign nor placed or maintained on any sidewalk, street, alley or public property.

C. Accessory signs shall carry only advertising which is appurtenant to a lawful use of the premises on which it is located, including signs or sign devices indicating the business transacted, services rendered or goods sold or produced on the premises, or by an occupant thereof.

D. Accessory signs shall have no mechanical or moving parts nor shall any electricity or other sources of illumination or power be attached to or made a part of any portable accessory sign. (Ord. 89-3 (part), 1989)
