A. Every high voltage gaseous tube or electric light used to illuminate a sign or outdoor advertising structure or any sign, which either is illuminated by, or which has moving parts which are operated by, means of electric power, shall be provided with a fixed name plate which correctly states the manufacturer's name or trademark, primary voltage and total watts. Every electric sign shall be submitted to the building inspector for individual approval before installation, and all metal portions of such illumination or electric sign. including transformer cases, shall be effectively grounded in accordance with the provisions of the Uniform Building Code.

B. Every electric sign and all its supports shall be constructed entirely of metal or other incombustible materials or approved combustible plastics, except that approved combustible materials may be used subject to the provisions of Section 14.12.050.

C. In cases where signs or gaseous tube installations are fabricated in the field, and no laboratory approval is available, facilities for access and inspection, including necessary ladders in place, must be furnished by the contractor. (Ord. 89-10 (part), 1989; Ord. 89-3 (part), 1989)
