A projecting sign shall be placed at least ten feet above any public sidewalk over which it projects, and shall not extend nearer than two feet to the curb line of any street. If a projecting sign is erected or maintained so that it projects over an alley or a private or public driveway, no part of the projecting portion of the sign shall be less than fifteen feet above the surface of such alley or driveway.
